Analogue Maltese TV transmissions have been switched off.
The digital switchover took place on 31st October when analogue TV transmissions were switched off. As from 1st November 2011, Maltese TV stations are transmitting only in digital.
The digital switchover:
- Affects you only if you watch free-to-air analogue Maltese TV using the conventional aerial.
- No subscription needed to watch TVM, Education 22, Favourite Channel, Net TV, ONE and Smash TV.
- The broadcasts are transmitted on UHF channel 66 using the DVB-T transmission standard and MPEG-2 coding technology.
